Reading for the kids can help to build their love for books.

I have to read for my little one every night, sometimes she will request for extra story book. She loves to go to the library, the moment she steps in, she will go search for her favourite books and pull out from the selves until she couldn't carry them, then she will seat down to browse every book. She also loves to go Popular bookshop.

Remembering the first book she had, it was just pictures and colour book. Picture illustration actually interpret everything words can say. Pictures also give ideas to the kids of what it is (the picture of the story is). Now, she has her own library, I got her a book shelves specially for her collection of magazines and books.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-148057646710711970.post-32532814363282389532011-01-17T00:17:00.000-08:002011-01-17T00:38:14.260-08:00Asus 1001PX Netbook
Courts was having its 2nd Anniversary celebration @Lot 1 shopping mall from 15 - 16 Jan 2011. There were lots of good bargains as they were having hourly special and auction on many mechandise items. From LCD, LED, plasma TV to notebook, netbook and lots of household electronic products such as blender, juicer and coffee maker, all were specially sold at lower price, some even got auction at half price.

I got my Asus 1001PX Netbook at $430, starting bid at $50. Original price for the netbook was said to be at $600+. I dont know if I got it at good bargain, as I just google it, people were buying at $399 only.

Do you ever get good bargain at such promotion? Because sometimes you dont have to be agreed or disagreed with it, but if you already knew the rules you might as well just follow it. Because we always regret after what we did. I dont want to regret later on, that's very torturing, do you agree?

I mean why do you want to go against somethings that we smell fishy about? If we heard about the rules, dont against it, follow it.

I just read about people saying a myth of staying at hotel.

I dont know if its true or not, but if I remember next time when check-in a hotel I will sure do so. What should you do before you enter a hotel room?

I have experienced myself at many occasions, when we stayed at hotel in Indonesia. I didnt know what happen, but my daughter just cant go to her sound sleep. She will sleep, but she will keep crying during her sleep, and it really freak me out as it always happened whenever we stayed at hotel.

Today, I read about what you should actually do before you enter the hotel room.

Some said, you should knock at the door and wait for a few minutes before entering. Do you do this? Another version is you should say sorry and pray sincerely before go inside the room.

Another said, you should flush the toilet once you entered the room. Why? I also have no idea.

If you see a Bible on the dressing table, it means mischievous ghosts residing in the room. Sound spooky right? Even bad if the Bible is open.

What's your view about this? Do you have other version or believe? Share it here.
Or will you do what others are saying?

To play save, I think I will :)Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-148057646710711970.post-85647315419217354652011-01-07T02:53:00.000-08:002011-01-09T19:34:05.186-08:00Featured In Jetstar Asia Fan Club Magazine

Are you going to take on Jetstar soon? Too bad and sad to waste the voucher just like that. Jetstar should have allowed us a flexible timing, that would be great. Because from the winning time to take off time, the period given was only a month.

But thanks to Jestar we could have cheap flight to our winning destination of HongKong. We were glad as our daughter got a chance to meet her favourite stars which is Disney princesses and taking photos with them was a great fun for her.

And now she can be on the magazine which is a good thing to be happy about. As we can share with family and friends.

Do you want to win Jestar vouchers and featured on the Jetstar magazine as well? Learning from experiences have woken me up to look into my own health.

Its true that, your own body, your own health, only yourself can take good care. You cant ignore it when health problems really occurred.

I am going to say goodbye to those bad things happened to me, and awakening to my new healthy chapter in the new year ahead.

You can't avoid going to spend money to see doctors, when your health problems come. So its better to spend on good healthy foods and supplements and spend time to do regular workout in order to stay healthy and good shape for the year ahead of you.

I started to go see doctor when I failed to conceive after a year of trying. At first my friend introduce me to see congyi (Chinese doctor), she is a well known congyi in women's fertility problem. The first time she read my pulse, she said I have a small cyst in my uterus, it happened because of un-finished period blood that gather inside and forming cysts that attached to the wall in uterus.

If I didnt remove the cyst and get pregnant it will easily cause miscarriage. So I went for a small operation in early Jan of 2010. After 5 months of operation I got pregnant in May. But unfortunately, my baby's heart beat stop in the second month, so I have to remove it. It was a big blow to me, why did it have to happen to me.

After learning about why the miscarriage happened, I can slowly accept the fact. People said, having a baby is a bless from God. It comes naturally and its God's gift. Maybe it's not a right time for baby to come to me or we were just un-faithed to be together.

I will accept whatever God has arranged for me.

After, what have happened, I must admit that I have to spend money to make myself healthy again by taking supplement from chongyi, I also must make myself stress free and keeping fit.

Anyone who having same grievance during the past year, please share with me. So I wont feel alone and dealing this matter.

Keep fit and keep healthy everyone:)Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-148057646710711970.post-60818344432359248662010-12-17T02:39:00.000-08:002010-12-20T19:50:13.212-08:00Playing Santa! The clock is tickling close to Christmas, its only 4 days to go. Have you found your gifts? I can imagine the Santa are in the mall looking for gifts.

Recalling last Xmas, I played Santa to put gifts in the Xmas stocking for my little princess. She really thought it was from Santa. She was happy so excited to check on the stocking.

Every parents really need to prepare to two gifts, one from parents and the other one pretending to be from Santa. That's why I said we all are playing Santa.

This year my daughter is preparing gifts for her friends, I taught her to DIY, it would be more special and fun to do. She even played as the post girl to deliver them to her friends' mail box as they all stay quite near.

(DIY notebooks with colour paper)

I think the most important meaning of giving out gifts is the thought and sincerity that counts.

What do you think the most important meaning of buying gifts to your friends or family on this special occasion?
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-148057646710711970.post-90475201331315884812010-12-16T04:14:00.000-08:002011-01-10T00:38:32.097-08:00Is Tuition needed for Kindergarten?

Living in Singapore for kids really is tough. I can see little toddlers actually have taken classes as early as 2 years old. Unlike when we were a kid, we didnt start going to school when we were 5 or 6 years, then that would be the first time we were taught about alphabets and numbers. We were not even going to kindergarten, we actually started from primary and so that's our path in learning everything from the beginning.

Hearing from the neighbours and friends that I should actually put my daughter to reading class when she is 3 years old. But I was too late, I only let her go to phonics when she was 4+ and reading class after that. I dont know if it might be a bit late. Because they told me that the foundation of reading and recognising words or new vocabulary is very important. Besides some primary school will actually test the kids when they are going into primary to see which level is suitable for their ability.

People say Singaporeans are kiasu, now I truly believe so. Staying in Singapore I cant stop myself to follow some of their steps. Honestly, I did let my daughter learn Piano, just to test if she has the talent and likes. unfortunately she didnt like it, we didnt want to force her, so we stop for her. We only let her learn when she likes such as ballet.

I personally teach her reading, because reading class is not cheap, its about $50/month. I did let her try at the enrichment program class, I will learn how they teach the kids and put it in practice to teach my girl because she likes being taught in different way. I will spare some times to teach her reading, grammar, maths, and Chinese. This way we could save quite a lot of money.

Approximately, you will need to spend around $250-300 a month just for the tuition academically plus arts. That would be for just one kid (3-5years). So dont forget to include this into your expenses calculation.

For SPR (Singaporean PR), K1 and K2 fees will be around S$181+/month (fee is not exact, because its expected to increase every year). The fee is for Shine program at PCF school. Normal program is about S$130+ (but i expect this normal program wont be continued in the future, because there will be all Shine programs for all level from nursery to K2). Shine program is said to have extra speech and drama plus cookery class.

Please note, the above information is just for your planning purposes.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-148057646710711970.post-45224825709340212112010-10-04T19:14:00.000-07:002010-12-16T04:06:28.641-08:00Maybe the Nicest Email ever!I AM THANKFUL: FOR THE WIFE WHO SAYS IT'S HOT DOGS TONIGHT, BECAUSE SHE IS HOME WITH ME, AND NOT OUT WITH SOMEONE ELSE.

FOR THE HUSBAND WHO IS ON THE SOFA BEING A COUCH POTATO, BECAUSE HE IS HOME WITH ME AND NOT OUT AT THE BARS.

FOR THE TEENAGER WHO IS COMPLAINING ABOUT DOING DISHES BECAUSE IT MEANS SHE IS AT HOME, NOT ON THE STREETS.

FOR THE TAXES I PAY BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM EMPLOYED .

FOR THE MESS TO CLEAN AFTER A PARTY BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS.

FOR THE CLOTHES THAT FIT A LITTLE TOO SNUG BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE ENOUGH TO EAT.

FOR MY SHADOW THAT WATCHES ME WORK BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM OUT IN THE SUNSHINE

FOR A LAWN THAT NEEDS MOWING, WINDOWS THAT NEED CLEANING, AND GUTTERS THAT NEED FIXING BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE A HOME .

FOR ALL THE COMPLAINING I HEAR ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT BECAUSE IT MEANS WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

FOR THE PARKING SPOT I FIND AT THE FAR END OF THE PARKING LOT BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM CAPABLE OF WALKING AND I HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH TRANSPORTATION .

FOR MY HUGE HEATING BILL BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM WARM.

FOR THE LADY BEHIND ME IN CHURCH WHO SINGS OFF KEY BECAUSE IT MEANS I CAN HEAR.

FOR THE PILE OF LAUNDRY AND IRONING BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE CLOTHES TO WEAR.

FOR WEARINESS AND ACHING MUSCLES AT THE END OF THE DAY BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN CAPABLE OF WORKING HARD.

FOR THE ALARM THAT GOES OFF IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM ALIVE.

AND FINALLY, FOR TOO MUCH E-MAIL BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE FRIENDS WHO ARE THINKING OF ME.

Live well, Laugh often, & Love with all of your heart!

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-148057646710711970.post-59075739564593091502010-07-30T05:10:00.000-07:002010-12-16T04:10:56.173-08:00Why the heart beat has stopped? After over a year of trying, God has finally gave its wonderful gift to us. However, Good news has turned into bad news just after 2 months. When my doctor told me, there was no heart beat, he couldn't hear it. My mind was all gone blank, then I knew bad thing was going to happen to the little thing inside me. Yes, I just had a miscarriage. My baby's heart beat has stopped.

I asked God, why...why...why its happening to me. What have I done wrong?

After hearing what the doctor has explained and searching from the world wide web, I finally understood what was happening. I can finally accept my faith of loosing my baby.

Because my body has detected something abnormal after the sperm and the egg joined into one. That's why it's rejecting itself. I couldn't imagine what will happen if it kept growing inside me? What will the baby become? I dont know, I didnt dare to think too far.

I thank God for everything IT has given me, whether its good or bad, I must learn its meaning within. I believe there is always a reason behind everything that is happening.

I thank God for giving me my first baby girl, I am glad she is growing healthy and good. That's what I must cherish now, it's the most valuable treasure I have, money couldnt buy.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-148057646710711970.post-81455035854645081772010-06-25T19:42:00.000-07:002010-12-16T04:08:18.021-08:00My Health My Wealth

Our health is on our hands, whether or not you want to be healthier or fitter, it's really up to us to decide. I know many people will make a new year resolution but hardly bring forward the plan till the year passed. It's time to make our resolution comes true by doing a little a day starting from our everyday routines.

While browsing through young families magazine brought home by my daughter given from her school, there is a phrase said a little a day, means a little a day can be added up to a lot of simple things done hence a healthier self.

If you think time is so precious, you could try the following tips I picked up from the magazine to boost up one's health.

1. Eat Breakfast, a healthy breakfast gives you a source of energy to meet the day's demands in a more stable manner than eating sugar-rich or caffeine-laced foods. It should comprise a serving of whole grains, digestible protein and a serving of fruit. If you skip breakfast, Alzheimer disease will visit you when you are getting older.

2. Spend 30 minutes outdoors, getting enough sunlight is as important as drinking water and having good nutrition. Our bodies produce vitamin D naturally when we're out in the sun. This vitamin can protect against muscle weakness, Type I diabetes and more than a dozen different cancers. Sunlight stimulates the pineal gland to produce melatonin, which aids sleep and has been shown to fight cancer. It's also a natural antidepressant.

3. Sleep regular hours, One of the most effective remedies for insomnia and other sleep-related problems is to have a regular sleep-and-wake schedule. This cycle is regulated by our brain as part of a daily rhythm. Chemicals like melatonin and cortisol in our nervous system tell our bodies when it's time to sleep and wake up. By keeping regular bedtime hours, we strengthen this natural rhythm, which helps us to fall asleep more easily.

4. Express Yourself, according to TCM beliefs, bottled-up frustration can affect liver function, which helps promote the smooth flow of 'qi' or life energy. This can lead to depression, constipation, body aches, headaches and even hypertension. So, de-stress and learn to express your emotions appropriately!

5. Exercise At Your Desk, do a mini workout within your hectic schedule. Take just 10 minutes every few hours and do some simple exercises like shoulder rotation, leg raises and neck stretches. They help you stay fit, relieve stress and keep your energy levels up.

6. Drink Infusion Tea, there's nothing that soothes like a good cup of freshly-brewed tea. The health benefits are plenty, too - studies have shown that tea contains anticancer properties and powerful antioxidants. Green tea lowers the risk of heart disease, chamomile helps relax the muscles and aids sleep, rose tea helps digestion and peppermint tea eases headaches.

7. Do Eye Exercises, eye exercises will keep your eyes healthy and minimise eye strain, especially for heavy computer users. It just takes a couple of minutes! Try these:

close your eyes and gently massage them with fingers using circular movements for one minute.

press three fingers against your upper eyelids, hold for two seconds and release. Repeat five times.

roll your eyes clockwise. Repeat five times and blink in between each time.

8. DIY Beauty, dont have time for a salon facial? Go to the kitchen instead. Common ingredients can be made into natural beauty potions. Banana is natural anti-wrinkle treatment: mash 1/4 banana, spread over your face, leave for 15 minutes and rinse off. For a nourishing cleansing mask, mix 1 teaspoon of plain yogurt with the juice of 1/4 orange, spread onto face and rinse off after five minutes.

9. Pamper yourself, allow yourself little indulgences. Instead of a quick shower, take a leisurely warm bath in the tub with Epsom salts that acts as natural muscle relaxant and helps to reduce stress. Take some time off for DIY manicure or pedicure. And always pair your activities with a positive attitude - look into the mirror every morning and tell yourself "I look good, I feel good and I will have a great day"

10. Priorities, Is your plate piles too high and schedule too crammed? List out your priorities and say "no" to the rest that are not important. If you're over-committed and under a lot of stress, you're likely to be unproductive, moody and may even fall ill. Make time for the things that matter most and let the less important things take care of themselves.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-148057646710711970.post-19231839566212173842010-06-25T16:02:00.000-07:002010-12-16T04:11:18.863-08:00Do you know why golf balls have dimples? An educational carnival of fun and discovery at the science in the mall.

It's a great fun activity for kids during the school holiday. There are few activities for the kids to have a hand on experience. My girl likes to experience on every activity, the one she likes more is the mini golfing or what they call mini putting green.

Do you know why the golf balls have dimples? This question never ever cross my mind until I read the little note book provided at the carnival.

It said, when air flows around a round ball, it tends to flow more smoothly around the first half of the ball, but creates instability as it continues its flows behind the ball. This instability show the ball down and shortens its flight.

When the surface of the ball is dimpled, air flowing around the ball becomes more stable. The dimples allow the air to flow smoother, so there is less drag and the ball flies farther.

The dimples also effect the golf ball's spin. With the golf club's angled shape, a hit will cause the ball to backspin, and lifts it up. The dimples further lift the ball up, due to the air caught on top of the ball. That explains why golf balls have dimples.

There are other activities such as checking out your BMI, do you know how to count your body mass index? it's your weight (kg) divide by height x height.

It a risk of developing heart disease and diabetes if your BMI is 23 and above.

Knowing your BMI will give you an early warning to take action to lower your weight to reduce your risk and to seek medical advice if your BMI exceeds 23. Me and my family are going to join again with our princess (first time for her or maybe second time because she was there in 2005 while still in my tummy).

This year's venue will be at Marina Bay (used to be at National stadium), on 18 July 2010, Sunday.

The registration fee this year is far more expensive compared to years ago, but the response is quite well. I guess because of the goodies everyone is going to get, including a ticket to Singapore Flyer the cost is already almost 30bucks. Its good for us since we havent been to Singapore Flyer, therefore I think the registration fee of $10 still ok. We only paid $8 though because by presenting the first page of the newpaper upon registering, there will be $2 off, if you have anlene packaging, extra $1 off.

It's fun having a walk with so many people, many creative people also transformed their t-shirts into a variety of different styles. That's why I help my princess to transform her t-shirt, as she complained her tee is too big.

Looking forward to the event soon!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-148057646710711970.post-2475308471636909522010-06-15T20:06:00.000-07:002010-12-16T04:08:18.024-08:00Why workout is good for your skin?

While browsing the net today I found out the benefits of working out or doing exercises, it is not only helping the heart and building a strong bone, exercising also has a great impact on your skin's appearance. How?

Sweating out

I am sure everyone will sweat after a workout or two, you really will feel great after sweating, because I do. But how can sweating add to your skin's complexion? Here is how, sweat purges your body of toxins that can clog pores and plague your skin with pimples and blemishes. Exercise increases blood flow to the skin, neuronal stimulation and allows sweat glands to increase their functions and get rid of the toxins. Once you sweat out those toxins, it's important to wash them off; you don't want to leave them sitting on your skin. Always shower after a workout to prevent bacterial or fungal infections that may occur from dirt clogging up your pores.

Tone Muscles

The more toned you are beneath your skin, the healthier your skin will look and feel. The stronger and firmer your muscles are, the more support your skin will have, and the more firm and elastic it will appear. Toning your muscles may also help to minimize the appearance of cellulite, the dimply fat that often strikes thighs and buttocks. You can't exercise cellulite away, but you can help make it look better.

Boost oxygen and blood flow to the skin

Studies have shown that regular exercise boosts blood flow in type 2 diabetics to help reduce the risk of skin problems that lead to amputation. Exercise gets the blood flowing and that increased blood flow carries more oxygen to the skin. The boost in blood flow and oxygen to the skin cells also carries nutrients that improve skin health, supporting all the effort you make with moisturizers and other skin care products on the skin surface.

Ease Stress

Exercise has long been known as a great way to relieve stress. Those mind-body benefits may extend to your complexion. Though studies are small, some show that stress may worsen, if not actually trigger, acne. Stress may also trigger flare-ups of psoriasis. It's known to boost hormone production and suppress the body's ability to heal, but regular workouts can keep stress and possibly hard-to-manage skin conditions under control. When you're feeling tense, let exercise keep any frown lines at bay.

Gives your complexion a beautiful, natural glow

When you exercise, your skin begins to produce more of its natural oils that help skin look supple and healthy. While that can naturally moisturize skin, remember to cleanse your face gently as part of your skin care routine when you shower to prevent any breakouts.

The above explains why workout can give your skin a boost into a more natural way of good looking skin appearance. It is supposed to be a special occasion only made snack. It has become no so special after all.

I remembered when I was still living in my hometown kampong Bengkalis, a small island (but could be said bigger then Singapore) in Indonesia, we can only smell and eat zongzi during duanwujie/duanwu festival also known as dragon boat festival which only happens on double fifth or the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. This year the Duanwu Festival will be on 16 June 2010.

The feeling of the past is still the best, because special thing only happens on special day, so the feeling is so much different.

Duanwu commemorates the life and death of the famous Chinese scholar Qu Yuan, he was a loyal minister that served the King of Chu during the Warring States Period in 3 centuries BC. Initially, his sovereign favored Qu Yuan, but over time, his wisdom and erudite ways antagonized the other court officials. And then he was Trumped up a charge of conspiracy, and ejected by his sovereign. During the exile, Qu Yuan made many poems to express his anger and sorrow of his sovereign and people.

At the age of 37, Qu Yuan drowned himself in the Milo River. He clasped a heavy stone to his chest and leaped into the water. Knowing that Qu Yuan was a righteous man, the people of Chu rushed to the river to try to save him. The people desperately searched the waters in their boats looking for Qu Yuan, but they were unsuccessful in their attempt to rescue him. Every year the Dragon Boat Festival is celebrated to commemorate this attempt at rescuing Qu Yuan.

When it was known that Qu Yuan had been lost forever, the local people began the tradition of throwing sacrificial cooked rice into the river for their lost hero. However, a local fisherman had a dream that Qu Yuan did not get any of the cooked rice that was thrown into the river in his honor. Instead, it was the fishes in the river that had eaten the rice. And so, the locals decided to make zongzi to sink into the river in the hopes that it would reach Qu Yuan's body. The following year, the tradition of wrapping the rice in bamboo leaves to make zongzi began.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-148057646710711970.post-14864639331973184472010-06-10T20:09:00.000-07:002010-12-16T04:05:52.127-08:00Learned how to make banner for my blog!
Whenever I wanted to post something on my blog, I always ended up posting nothing because I keep changing my template and layout of my blog.

Today I log in blogger, I discovered a new way of quick editing or changing new template, no hassle no html code, just a click of a mouse, I am quite satisfied with it.

When you log into your blogger account it will ask you directly whether you want to try the new templates, then you just click 'yes I want to try'. Or specifically, the princesses of Caldecott Hill.

While discussing the impending departure of close friend Jesseca Liu, actor Elvin Ng told xinmsn in an exclusive interview that he was unhappy the first three years on the job and had harboured thoughts of leaving.

The handsome lad had to juggle his university studies while acting in his first drama. Moreover, his command of Mandarin was poor. He had wanted to put a stop to this stint but inexplicably signed a contract with MediaCorp.

"I had doubts every day over the first three years. At the point of extending my contract I asked myself if I should leave.

"But I thought, I've given so much, results are starting to show, and I'm beginning to like acting. Leaving wouldn't be smart."

Elvin, a former model, stumbled into the industry after being talent-spotted on the variety show School Belle and Beau. Four years on, he is now one of local TV's most adored teen idols.

The turning point in his attitude towards stardom happened two years ago when he had knee surgery. The four-month break recharged his energy for acting.

"I want to act for 10 more years," he quipped, "but after that I don't know."

The 29-year-old will next be seen in the drama New Beginnings, before transforming into a tanned sailing coach for the Youth Olympics-inspired serial Splashes and Strings, which also stars Dai Yangtian, Felicia Chin, Yuan Shuai and Tracy Lee.

On baring skin again like his Tarzan character did in the anniversary megadrama Together, Elvin said, "I don't wish to continue selling sex appeal. Am I so lousy that I only have sex appeal?"

Ironically, he called his hunky figure a "burden".

The English Literature graduate from the National University of Singapore said with a tinge of exasperation, "I hope the attention won't be there all the time. I realized I'm needed to [bare skin] a lot recently."

Xin.sgUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-148057646710711970.post-33052897202107534802010-04-14T00:53:00.000-07:002010-12-16T04:12:16.763-08:00Joanne Peh Not In Top 10 List Of 2010 Star Awards?
One of Caldecott Hill's remaining 'Princesses' and last year's Best Actress, Joanne Peh, delivered a shocking twist when her name was missing from the top 10 leading female artistes list this week. So the people decided to go search for dragon's nest in order to make them move away from the village. But the fact is those dragons are the slaves of a monster dragon, they steal for the gigantic dragon who is hiding in the nest or inside the mountain, all the dragons must find food for the monster dragon or else they will be eaten by the monster dragon.

Hiccup wanted to be just like his father a viking who kills dragon. But he was born different from the others, he is small and not strong. So his father keeps him in the house and never let him train to be a viking.

One night, when there is chaos, hiccups runs out with his weapons, he shoots a night fury, that no one believed he has shot a dragon.

The next day, he goes to search for the dragon that he has shot, he found the night fury, in the end he let the dragon go, because he saw himself in the dragon's eyes, scared, scared of being killed. The dragon is freed and hiccups wasn't hurted.

In the later part Hiccups and dragon the night fury became friends and they help the village to kill the gigantic dragon.

Which story part do I like about the story? The way Hiccups makes friend with the night fury dragon, he doesnt kill, but makes friends with the beast instead, they way he tries to understand them, not using violent to resolve problems.

I think that's the way we should learn, understanding each other. That's how harmony can become. Life is short, why should we want to use violent to treat others, why not use love and care, and good communications? So we can have world peace?Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-148057646710711970.post-66931682056858297042010-04-09T13:33:00.000-07:002010-12-16T04:10:56.180-08:00Do you believe in Karma?Today, while waiting for my daughter playing after school....we were talking about karma. Do you believe in karma? what is karma actually?

Do you believe of faith? Being able to be together as husband and wife, is that the faith of karma bring one to another? It could be one comes to repay the kindness of the other or it could be another way around, one comes to get what the other has owed to his or her. If you understand what karma is, I am sure you will understand what I am talking about here.

I believe everything comes with a reason, everything happened will have the cause and effect. If at one point of time in the past life, someone has helped you, but you have not repaid that person's kindness and you have passed on. In your next life, you will meet that person again to rapay his or her kindness. On the other hand, if you did harm to someone in your previous life, and in your next life you will get back the concequences of harming that person. That's karma, that's cause and effect.

The very obvious example we can see such as, a broken family, husband and wife always quarrel, kids not obedience, all of the people in the family come to get what we call in Chinese pao ying (the bad effects someone will get from what they did in the past)
Sometimes, we just envy some family, they always life happily, harmoniuosly, always helping each other, always give support to each other...those are the kindness deed the saw in their past life.

Sometimes we can see, our children are very naughty, and always disobeyed what the parents said, even talk back with their parents.

We even heard news, where children kill their parents or parents kill their children. We cannt say this has nothing to do with karma. Everything happened has its cause and effects we cant run away from it.

That's why wise people always said, when you want to say something, think twice, before you speak up. Chinese phrase said our mouth can kill, not because of things we eat can kill us slowly but the words we speak might kill someone without us knowing.
We must also think twice before we act or do something....we dont rush, think twice, think wise in order to avoid bad things happen.

How to avoid doing more bad karma?

think twice before you speak

think twice before you act

life is short, life our life to the fullest, do more good deeds

I think you will feel happier if you can make someone happy, or you have helped someone.

We have to pass everyday, every minute, why not make every moment a happy moment? If we are happy, I am sure people around us will also feel happy.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-148057646710711970.post-53268218723594580212010-04-06T20:24:00.000-07:002010-12-16T04:07:07.039-08:00Learning Phonics with Super WhyStudying in Singapore can be quite stressful sometimes, I think the kids arent stress but the moms who will be.

I dont want to bring stressful education to my daughter, just withdrawn her from her piano lessons because she didnt like to practice, maybe she hasnt got the talent in it.

She has another lesson outside school which is phonics, she likes it very much, cant wait to go every week, that's the spirit I want from her, if she likes it I will let her continue if not I dont want to force her either.
